Dedicated Prayer during Sunday School

The Lord has directed me to have the people of God's Way Baptist to dedicated prayer during the Sunday School hour in the month of August. We have been doing this for the last couple of weeks and what a move of God we have seen. Some of the best services we have seen in a long time. Visitors are coming and needs are being met.

God has set a vision before us to see 50 souls saved before the end of the year! We are expecting to see God meet that number and exceed it beyond our imaginations.

We are seeking revival. Revival services are scheduled Sep. 8-10, 2010 with Bro. Bobby Barnes. It's my prayer to see revival in the hearts and lives of the people of GWBC before the services even begin.

II Chronicles 7:14 - "If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land."

Pray for Sis. Mary Tunison

I'm asking all of the congregation and the rest of our friends to please pray for Sis. Mary Tunison. She had emergency surgery on Wednesday of this week to relieve the pressure that a tumor in her pelvis area has placed on her kidney. Sis. Tunison was within 2-4 hours of loosing her kidney if the doctor had not seen the tumor on the CT Scan. She has been referred to Emory Hospital in Atlanta on Monday to have her cancer doctor to look and determine what the next step is in this process. Pray, pray, pray for the will of God to be evident in her life and that His merciful and gracious hand will continue to guide and direct her. She is a dear and precious lady of our church!!!!

Homecoming at GWBC this Sunday May 23, 2010

Homecoming is this coming weekend. I can't believe that the Lord has allowed these years to pass by so quickly. I just remember the humble beginnings that GWBC had and how the Lord has brought us so far and I stand in amazement.
This Sunday we will have a wonderful friend of mine, Bro. Curt Thomason, from north GA as our guest preacher. He is a powerful yet humble man of God that loves the Word of God and preaches it without compromise. I'm so blessed with his friendship and the fellowship we share in the Lord.
Dinner on the grounds will follow the morning service and YES we will be having an evening service at 6pm. We don't cancel church for anything. The Lord is TOP priority.

The Lord is Moving At God's Way Baptist!!

Over the last few weeks, the Lord has been moving and doing amazing things in our church. We had one saved on a Wednesday night several weeks ago. On Mother's Day we had a gentleman to join the church that has been visiting for some time. This past Sunday, we had a young lady saved, two to join the church, and the altar packed with men and women repenting and getting their heart right with God. The Lord was gracious to send in 14 visitors this past Sunday as well.
I don't know what God has planned for our church in the future, but I sure do love what He is doing in our midst now. What a great and awesome God we serve!

Kolby Boone has arrived!

On April 16, 2010, Tyler and Amanda Boone welcomed the addition of their son, Kolby. What a blessing to see the Lord give new life. Kolby is blessed to have a big sister, Kenly, to help in the taking care of his needs. Congrats Boone Family!

The Lord Has Blessed Again!!

Today myself and a group of men from God's Way Baptist traveled to Lake City, FL. We were invited to the home of a dear man of God, Bro. Paul Malone. Bro. Malone was used of God to bless our church once again. We were donated a pulpit, communion table, prayer altars, and an upright piano. That completes the needs list of everything that goes in the building, now we are waiting upon the Lord to supply the 5 acres and building to put all this in. We are waiting and being patient on the will of God in our church's ministry.

The Pastoral Epistles Series on Wed Nights!

I am excited to announce that this past Wednesday night we started a new series that will run for the next several weeks. On these nights, we will be going verse upon verse and line upon line through I Timothy, II Timothy, and Titus.

This past Wednesday night our very first message was entitled "I Charge Thee, Timothy." In chapter one, Paul is charging Timothy to hold fast to the truth of the gospel and to shun the false teachings of his day. What a charge that we all need to have as well.

I can't wait to see what the Lord is going to do through this series!!

Chaplain training at St Simon's Island

I've been here in training for the last couple of days. The training is awesome. We have covered almost every subject you can imagine. Everything from counseling to domestic disputes. Something that I belive can help us be better pastors and shepherds of God's people. I've had the wonderful opportunity to meet some dear independent baptist brethren at this conference. What a blessing of being able to fellowship.

Bro. Paul Malone from Bible Baptist in Live Oak FL filled the pulpit for me on this past Sunday night. He did a fantastic job preaching and encouraging the congregation at God's Way Baptist. Thank you so much brother.

In God's grace and will,
Pastor Harris

Jubiliee at GWBC 3-5-10

Jubilee is tonight at God's Way Baptist.  I'm excited to see what the Lord will do in this service.  I'm thankful for all those that come and support this very important and needed meeting here in Adel.  We have seen many wonderful things come out of this meeting over the last year and are expecting more in the future.

Sis. Missy is still recovering from her surgery.  She is still in a lot of pain, but that is only temporary.  Continue to pray for her and her speedy recovery.

Revival at Trinity Baptist Church in Thomasville GA - I've really been in prayer for this meeting with Bro. Ken Burgess.  Its my prayer that God will use me in such a way to be a blessing and useful vessel to the people at Trinity.  I'm excited and honored to be with such a great group of people and with a dear friend to me, Bro. Burgess.

Sis. Missy is doing great!

Today my wife had to have her gallbladder removed.  It has been a long and tedious day of being at the hospital and also helping her get settled down here at the house.  There is one thing to say about the whole ordeal, "Praise the Lord!"  I thank my Lord for her well doing and am also praying for her speedy recovery.

Revival this past week was just wonderful.  The Lord moved and His people were revived.  I'm so appreciative of Bro. Eric Justice and his obedience in preaching the Word of God with humility but at the same time with power and authority.  God richly used that man of God in a mighty way.  It did my heart good to be able to have the fellowship of this dear brother as well as Bro. Larry from his church.  We had a wonderful turn out each night and several visitors.  Many of those visitors visited with us on Sunday and I'm thankful.

In His Service,
Pastor Harris
